New Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Unveiled for WEC Debut in 2024

Date:

Aston Martin has unveiled its new Vantage GT3 for 2024, which is set to make its racing debut at the FIA WEC race in Qatar. This new model is an evolution of the retired Vantage AMR GTE and GT3 cars, built around Aston Martin’s bonded aluminum chassis structure and powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. The car features a new aerodynamic package, revised suspension, and state-of-the-art electronics to address some of the old car’s handling challenges.

The new Vantage GT3 is the result of a collaboration between Aston Martin Racing (AMR) and Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT). The focus was on increasing performance across different circuits, tire types, and driver levels, while complying with the new GT3 regulations. The car has undergone an extensive test program to ensure it is as driveable as possible for both professional and amateur drivers. With positive feedback from drivers who have tested it, Aston Martin is eagerly awaiting its racing debut and aims to deliver 30 cars to customers in 2024.

Aston Martin has already secured racing programs for the Vantage GT3, with teams in IMSA GTD, FIA WEC, and European SRO programs confirmed. The base price for the car is expected to be £575,000, and the manufacturer aims to keep the cost-per-kilometer figure in line with the previous model, making it an attractive option for GT racing teams. The unveiling of the new Vantage GT3 underlines Aston Martin’s commitment to producing high-performance sports cars, proving its capabilities on the track.
