Similar to its Mac counterpart, the ChatGPT application for Windows provides users the ability to interact with the AI-powered chatbot in a dedicated window, which can be kept open alongside other applications. Users can conveniently access the app using the Alt + Space shortcut.
The Windows app also allows the uploading of files and photos to ChatGPT and includes access to a preview of OpenAI’s o1 model, which is capable of “reasoning.” However, the app currently lacks some features, such as an advanced voice mode.
Currently, only subscribers to ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Edu can use the app on Windows, but OpenAI has plans to make it available to a wider audience later this year.
