Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is set to unveil its new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, on November 15, as reported by the Disney Parks Blog. This ride will replace the former Splash Mountain at the park. The revamped attraction had already made its debut at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in June, accompanied by a “planning tips” guide for park visitors.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a water thrill ride located in Critter Country that features significant drops and is suitable for riders who are at least 40 inches tall. This ride draws its theme from the 2009 animated film, “The Princess and the Frog,” contrasting with its predecessor, Splash Mountain, which faced social media backlash due to its association with “Song of the South,” a 1946 film criticized for its portrayal of racial tropes from the post-Civil War South.
Access to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will initially be through a “complimentary virtual queue” available via the Disneyland app, with specific entry times at 7 a.m. and noon Pacific time. A standby line will not be offered immediately; however, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass will be available for quicker access, subject to availability.
Recently, Disney introduced the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, a pilot program at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, which enables guests to bypass long waits at attractions for an additional cost beyond the ticket price. The new pass became available on October 23 at Disneyland Resort and October 30 at Walt Disney World. There have been no changes to the existing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass options at U.S. Disney parks.
