Motorola Unveils Trio of New Razr Foldable Phones for 2025

Date:

Motorola officially unveiled its new Razr phones on Thursday, putting an end to the speculation that had surrounded the releases. The American technology company introduced three foldable phones: the Razr (2025), Razr Plus (2025), and Razr Ultra. Detailed specifications and features are available on Motorola’s company blog, where the Razr Ultra with a wood finish is highlighted as a standout model.

Motorola has made strong claims about the Razr Ultra, touting it as the world’s most powerful and fastest-charging flip phone, thanks to its Snapdragon processor. The phone, featuring a notable wood finish, is priced at $1,300 and offers substantial specifications. It includes a 4-inch external display, a 7-inch internal display, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Additionally, it is equipped with a 4,700mAh battery and a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The device features three 50MP camera lenses and offers a range of color options, including a wood finish. The Razr Ultra also includes a dedicated AI button, which provides shortcut access to various features also available on the other Razr devices.

The 2025 Razr series introduces “Moto AI,” which can store and recall user-specified memories. The phones also incorporate a “Group Shot” photo feature, similar to recent Google Pixel phones, allowing the combination of multiple group photos to achieve an optimal shot.

Motorola’s AI features are increasingly becoming a standard in the smartphone market. “Moto AI” benefits from integration with Google Gemini, offering functionalities like Google Gemini Live mode.

The other two Razr models, while less advanced than the Ultra, are priced more affordably. The base model starts at $699, featuring a 3.6-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch interior screen. It houses a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and has a 4,500mAh battery.

The Razr Plus, priced at $999, occupies a middle ground. It retains the 4-inch cover display from the Ultra and the 6.9-inch internal screen from the base model. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 processor, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Additionally, it includes a 50MP wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens.

The advancements in the Razr series signify significant progress since Motorola’s initial foldable Razr launch, which received unfavorable reviews. The 2025 editions of the Razr lineup will be available for pre-order in the U.S. beginning May 7 through Motorola, Best Buy, and Amazon. Interested customers can register for updates on Motorola’s website. Further purchase details and a comprehensive review of these new phones are anticipated.
