Apple’s long-promised Intelligence features have now become available on most iPhones, though initial reactions are mixed. Surveys indicate a lack of interest among early users, and internal reports suggest Apple is disappointed with the low interaction levels with its AI.
Apple Intelligence, while perceived as beneficial, is not deemed essential by all users. One significant development is that the iPhone 17 models are expected to be equipped with 12GB of RAM, as indicated by recent leaks from China and reports by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
This upgrade is a notable increase from the 8GB found in the iPhone 16 models. It’s uncommon for Apple to enhance RAM so significantly across its entire lineup, including the most affordable versions, like the iPhone 17. Currently, 8GB of RAM supports AI functions, and the final decision on 12GB integration remains pending. If implemented, this change could enhance performance and support more advanced AI features in the future.
Even those uninterested in AI would benefit from the increased RAM, which would boost phone speed and responsiveness, assuming there is no price increase.
The iPhone 17 series is anticipated for an early September launch. Reports suggest the addition of a new, ultra-thin device, potentially named the iPhone 17 Air, to the lineup.
