In a daring act, thieves targeted San Francisco’s Dior store by driving a car into the front doors, causing significant damage and allowing them to ransack the luxury store. The impact of the car hitting the doors shattered the glass cabinets and mangled the metal gates. Eyewitnesses reported that three vehicles stopped in front of the store, and one car crashed into it. The occupants of the crashed car escaped on foot, while others entered the store, stole merchandise, and fled. While two individuals were arrested, the police are still searching for additional suspects.
This incident brings back memories of a similar spree that occurred two years ago in Union Square, where thieves targeted various high-end retailers, including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Bloomingdale’s. Although the police were able to prevent burglaries at some stores, such as Fendi and Hermes, others experienced significant damage. As a result, the city’s mayor and law enforcement officials increased the police presence in the shopping district and urged shoppers to have confidence in returning.
Dior and the Union Square Alliance advocacy group have not yet provided any comments regarding the incident. With increased concerns over retail crime, it is essential for authorities to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure the safety of both residents and store owners in San Francisco.
