HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Woodside Energy has announced a $50,000 contribution to the Bayou Community Foundation to aid relief efforts following Hurricane Francine. The Category 2 hurricane significantly impacted the Louisiana coast, leading to widespread power outages and disruptions in access to essential resources.
Daniel Kalms, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Woodside Energy, expressed solidarity with the affected communities, stating that Louisiana holds a significant place within the company due to its operations in the Gulf of Mexico and its expanding presence through the Driftwood LNG project in Lake Charles. He underscored the company’s commitment to supporting the Bayou Community Foundation’s critical relief and recovery services for residents in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes.

The aftermath of Hurricane Francine saw over 450,000 homes losing power, with numerous instances of flooding. In response, the Bayou Community Foundation has initiated its Bayou Recovery Fund Grants Program. This program aims to support nonprofit organizations in providing essential relief and recovery assistance to residents of Lafourche, Terrebonne, and Grand Isle.
