New information has surfaced regarding the arrest of a man with a gun near the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Donnell Tinsley, 21, was found carrying a concealed AK-47 pistol without a permit, along with a “Scream” movie mask and other suspicious items. A Homeland Security Investigations special agent, patrolling the convention exterior, noticed Tinsley walking outside the screening perimeter wearing a ski mask and carrying a heavy backpack.
Upon searching Tinsley’s backpack, the federal agent discovered the illegal firearm, along with loaded ammunition, a flashlight, gloves, and other items. Tinsley admitted to not having a permit to carry concealed weapons, leading to his immediate arrest by law enforcement officers. This incident comes in the wake of heightened security measures following an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump and a separate fatal police shooting in Milwaukee unrelated to the convention.
Court records indicate that Tinsley appeared in court and details about legal representation have not been disclosed.
