A recent study published in the journal Science has revealed that up to 17 percent of the world’s agricultural land is potentially contaminated with toxic heavy metals. The study indicates that approximately 1.4 billion people live in regions where the soil is dangerously polluted with metals such as arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel, and lead.
