The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted a license on Saturday for the launch of SpaceX’s Starship 5, which is scheduled to occur as early as Sunday. Earlier in the week, Reuters reported on the unexpectedly rapid timeline, following the FAA’s statement in September that it anticipated a decision on the license no earlier than late November.
According to the FAA’s announcement on Saturday, SpaceX has fulfilled all safety, environmental, and other licensing requirements for the suborbital test flight of the Starship’s fifth test. Additionally, the FAA has also given approval for the Starship 6 mission profile.
