Mexico’s stock market experienced gains on Thursday, driven by positive performances in various sectors.
Upon closing, the Mexican Stock Exchange saw a rise of 0.64%.
Among the top performers were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit, which increased by 8.58% or 0.70 points, settling at 8.86. Following this, Cemex SAB de CV saw an uptick of 3.27% or 0.39 points, ending at 12.33, and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV noted a 3.08% or 0.64 point gain, reaching 21.45 by the close.
Conversely, Regional SAB de CV experienced a decline, falling 2.49% or 3.07 points to close at 120.01. Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación SAB de CV dropped by 2.16% or 0.28 points to conclude at 12.66, while Banco Del Bajío SA Institution De Banca Múltiple decreased by 1.38% or 0.66 points to end the session at 47.16.
On the exchange, advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 143 rising, 75 falling, and 16 remaining unchanged.
A notable highlight was Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV, which reached 52-week highs with a 3.08% gain or 0.64 points, closing at 21.45.
In the commodities market, Gold Futures for December delivery increased by 0.50% or 13.10, reaching $2,611.70 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery rose 1.77% or 1.24, hitting $71.12 per barrel. Additionally, the November Brent oil contract observed a slight increase of 0.04% or 0.03, trading at $74.89 per barrel.
Currency movements saw the USD/MXN rise by 0.08% to 19.32, while the EUR/MXN slightly decreased by 0.04% to 21.56.
The US Dollar Index Futures recorded a 0.07% increase, standing at 100.36.
