Indian benchmark indices experienced a decline for the second consecutive session on Friday. The Sensex dropped nearly 600 points, and the Nifty closed below the 24,050 mark as investor sentiment became cautious due to rising geopolitical tensions. These tensions were heightened by a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The BSE Sensex, comprising 30 shares, fell 588 points, or 0.74%, closing at 79,212. Meanwhile, the broader NSE Nifty decreased by 207 points, or 0.86%, ending at 24,039. During the trading session, the Sensex saw a drop of up to 1,525 points from its intraday high, while the Nifty lost 518 points from its peak.
