Several restaurants are offering deals in recognition of Tax Day. As Americans approach the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) deadline for filing federal income tax returns, which falls on Tuesday, various well-known chains are providing food deals for customers to enjoy.
At participating Great American Cookies locations, customers who purchase a chocolate chip cookie cake slice can receive another slice for free by mentioning the offer at checkout. Paris Baguette is offering its rewards program members a complimentary pastry with the purchase of a beverage, provided the pastry is of equal or lesser value.
Krispy Kreme is promoting a “sweet tax break” by offering a second dozen Original Glazed doughnuts at the cost of only the sales tax in their state for customers purchasing 12 doughnuts in-store. Those ordering online can receive the same deal by using the promo code “TAXBREAK”.
On the savory side, Checkers and Rally’s are offering two sandwiches—crispy fish or spicy chicken—for $3. Fazoli’s is providing a “buy-one-get-one” deal on baked spaghetti with the code “TAX25”.
Potbelly Sandwich Works is encouraging customers to buy one Big or Original sandwich to receive a second one for free using the promo code BOGO on April 15. Shake Shack is also offering a deal: customers who spend at least $10.40 can obtain a free single-patty Black Truffle Burger, Black Truffle ‘Shroom sandwich, or Black Truffle Parmesan Fries using the code “TRUFFLETAX”. This offer is valid on orders placed at a kiosk, through the Shake Shack Mobile App, or via shakeshack.com through April 27.
Round Table Pizza has introduced a promo code “RPT220” for a $7 discount on large or extra-large pizzas, available through April 17. Meanwhile, California Pizza Kitchen is extending a $10 discount on a $40 dine-in or takeout order for CPK Rewards members, although certain locations are excluded.
These deals coincide with Tax Day, as the IRS noted receiving over 101.4 million tax returns for the 2025 tax filing season by April 4. Over 100.3 million returns have been processed, with more than 67.7 million refunds issued, averaging $3,116 per refund.
