Vice President JD Vance recently spoke at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, emphasizing the Trump administration’s supportive stance on cryptocurrency and digital assets. Vance highlighted a more favorable approach by President Donald Trump compared to previous Democratic administrations.
During his address, Vance noted a shift in leadership, stating, “There’s a new sheriff in town,” and questioned whether the nation would lead the future of financial sovereignty, innovation, and prosperity, or allow external forces to dictate the terms.
He commended President Trump as a champion for cryptocurrency, acknowledging its potential beyond investment, viewing it as a symbol of personal liberty. Vance also declared the end of “Operation Choke Point 2.0,” referring to the Biden administration’s regulatory actions.
He highlighted the role of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in countering control by those who might exploit these technologies. Vance expressed optimism about the Senate quickly passing the GENIUS Act, anticipating President Trump’s endorsement once it reaches his desk.
This event marked the first time a sitting vice president addressed the annual bitcoin conference.
