Adobe hints at game-changing AI photo editing tool in new teaser.

Date:

Adobe is preparing to unveil a new AI-powered photo editing tool at the upcoming Adobe Max event. Known as Project Stardust, this tool employs an “object-aware editing engine” that can automatically identify and manipulate individual objects in photographs. The software allows users to easily move, delete, or change objects within an image, with the background automatically filled in to match the surrounding area. Project Stardust also incorporates a “Contextual Task Bar,” similar to a feature previously introduced in Photoshop, which can detect the next steps in the design process and facilitate quick edits. This new editing engine utilizes generative AI capabilities similar to Adobe’s Firefly-powered Photoshop tools, enabling tasks such as replacing clothing items on a model or generating AI-generated flowers.

Automated design tools, driven by advances in generative AI, are becoming increasingly common. Canva and Google Photo’s Magic Editor tool also offer similar automated editing features. However, Project Stardust’s capabilities have only been partially revealed, and it is expected to revolutionize the way users interact with Adobe products. More details about Adobe’s AI releases, including Project Stardust, will be unveiled at the Adobe Max event, starting on October 10th.

Overall, Adobe’s new AI-powered photo editing tool, Project Stardust, is set to revolutionize image manipulation by automatically identifying and manipulating objects within photographs. With its generative AI capabilities and a contextual task bar, the software allows for quick and easy edits. This marks a significant advancement in the field of automated design tools, following in the footsteps of similar features offered by Canva and Google. More information about Project Stardust and other AI releases from Adobe will be presented at the Adobe Max event, commencing on October 10th.
