ASUS is upgrading its ProArt laptop and Chromebook lines with the latest components for Computex 2025, enhancing both with a more premium appearance through new colors and refined finishes.
The ASUS ProArt A16 emerges as the flagship model, featuring a black aluminum body with a “stealth” hinge design that allows the top half to sit nearly flush with the bottom, and a smudge-resistant finish to reduce fingerprints. Internally, it is equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. These specifications qualify the ProArt as a Copilot+ PC, providing access to Windows’ expanding AI features. ASUS includes two applications, StoryCube and MuseTree, which can run generative AI models locally. The laptop is approximately half an inch thick and boasts a 16-inch 4K OLED display.
In the Chromebook lineup, ASUS offers both standard models and Chromebook Plus versions that support Google’s AI tools. The ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 features a 14-inch display capable of folding flat, a 1080p webcam, and is powered by up to an Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. This configuration supports local Gemini features, with priority access to Gemini Advanced. However, the prominent ASUS logo and limited color options—white or grey—are noteworthy.
The ASUS Chromebook CX14 and CX15 are equipped with up to an Intel Core N355 processor, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. A Plus version of the CX14 is available for those interested in Google’s AI features. Both the 14-inch and 15-inch models offer a selection of ports, including HDMI, and are available in colors such as blue, silvery grey, and greenish-grey, with matte or textured finishes.
The ASUS Chromebook CX34 is currently available starting at $400 from Walmart and Best Buy. The other models will be released in Q2 2025. The ProArt A16 is priced at $2,500 from ASUS’ online store and Best Buy. The Chromebook CX14 begins at $279 at Best Buy or Costco. The Chromebook Plus CX14 will be available for $429 at Best Buy, and the Chromebook CX15 starts at $220, purchasable from Best Buy and Amazon.
