The new voice actor for Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Kevin Afghani, has expressed his gratitude on social media. Afghani, known for his role in Genshin Impact, confirmed that he will be voicing both iconic characters in the upcoming game. Previously, there was speculation about who would be playing the plumbers, with Afghani and Wally Wingert being the top contenders. However, Wingert’s agents denied his involvement, ultimately revealing that Afghani will be lending his voice to Mario and Luigi.
Taking to Twitter, Afghani thanked Nintendo and shared his excitement about playing the beloved characters. While he is confirmed for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it remains to be seen if he will reprise his role in future Mario games or who will voice other characters like Waio in WarioWare: Move It!. Fans are eager to hear Afghani’s performance in the full game when it launches on October 20th, and congratulate him for landing such an iconic voice-over role.
