PS5 Pro Pre-order Details: Dates and Locations

Date:

PlayStation 5 Pro is scheduled for release on November 7, with pre-orders now available in the US and the UK. The PS Direct storefront began accepting pre-orders at 10 AM EDT. Due to significant website traffic, customers may experience delays but are advised to remain in the queue to secure their spot.

Other major retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, have established landing pages but are yet to initiate pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Pro console, which is expected to begin on October 10. The pre-order price at PS Direct is set at $700, consistent with the prices these retailers will list upon starting their pre-orders.

Additionally, Sony has introduced a limited edition collection to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation. This collection features a retro gray color scheme inspired by the first PlayStation console. It includes the standard PS5 in both white and black variants, along with a bundle that includes a DualSense controller, the upgraded DualSense Edge controller, and the PlayStation Portal handheld, all adorned with the matching PS1 aesthetic.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection are also available on PS Direct. The high demand is resulting in long queue times, sometimes exceeding an hour. The price for the entire collection is $1,000. Individual components such as the DualSense ($80), DualSense Edge ($220), and PlayStation Portal ($220) can be pre-ordered separately. The retro color scheme is also available for the Digital Edition PlayStation 5, priced at $500.

The PlayStation 5 Pro offers several hardware upgrades, including a larger GPU, new SSR AI-based upscaling, advanced ray tracing, and a 2TB SSD with expandable storage. These enhancements are expected to improve framerate and detail in games that support fidelity and performance modes.

For those unable to secure pre-orders through PS Direct, a second opportunity will be available when Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target commence their pre-orders on October 10.
