Spotify is enhancing its AI DJ feature to allow users to request music or alter the mood of a playlist using voice commands. This update is being rolled out for premium subscribers in over 60 markets, with support exclusively in English.
Previously, the AI DJ provided songs with occasional commentary. Now, an interactive dimension has been introduced to the feature.
Users are able to instruct the AI DJ to change the mood or genre, or request tracks from specific artists.
The AI DJ can be accessed by searching for it and holding the DJ button on the bottom right to issue voice commands. For a quick mood change without specific requests, users can simply press the DJ button.
Spotify initially launched the AI DJ feature in the U.S. and Canada in February 2023, subsequently expanding it globally in August 2023. Additionally, the company introduced a Spanish-speaking AI DJ feature.
Another prominent AI feature from Spotify enables users to create playlists using text prompts.
