Day of the Devs, an event focused on indie games, is nearing its commencement. This segment of the Summer Game Fest allows smaller publishers to gain attention and often proves to be a noteworthy event, sometimes even surpassing the main show. The event is scheduled for June 6.
This year’s lineup includes Heart Machine’s 2D sidescroller, “Possessor(s),” known for its hand-drawn art, horror elements, and a theme featuring “very hot” demons. Additionally, Outersloth’s “Neverway,” described as a “nightmarish life sim,” will also be featured. The game’s premise involves Fiona starting anew on a farm after leaving a dead-end job and becoming an immortal herald of a dead god.
House House, creators of “Untitled Goose Game,” is also part of the schedule, presumably offering a closer look at their new project, “Big Walk.” This “cooperative online walker-talker” game prioritizes a relaxed gaming experience rather than competitive play, allowing players to enjoy shared time with friends within its unique setting.
The event promises more than this brief preview. Day of the Devs begins on June 6 at 7PM ET and can be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Engadget will provide on-site coverage at the Summer Games Fest with firsthand impressions.
