Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to launch on June 26. However, an early glimpse of the game will be available during an event at the conclusion of Summer Game Fest on June 8. This event, titled “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Game Premiere,” will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will feature live gameplay along with a panel discussion involving Hideo Kojima and other contributors to the game.
The sequel continues the storyline from the original Death Stranding, following Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by Norman Reedus, who is re-engaged in his deliveries by Fragile, played by Léa Seydoux. Recent trailers suggest the sequel enhances the traversal challenges with new terrain, weather conditions, and tools available to the character.
The premiere is scheduled for June 8 at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets can be secured online, and those unable to attend can watch the event live on YouTube.
This event marks the beginning of the “Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2,” promoting Death Stranding 2: On the Beach up to its release and beyond. Additionally, a film adaptation of Death Stranding, to be written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, has been announced by A24 and Kojima Productions.
The collaboration between Kojima and Keighley is part of a broader lineup of events during Summer Game Fest, which includes various showcases like the Keighley-hosted Summer Game Fest Live, Day of the Devs, and the Devolver Direct.
