Major Galaxy S24 leak suggests standard model may not meet US expectations.

Date:

Samsung has recently received FCC approval for the Galaxy S24 lineup, setting the stage for the much-anticipated Unpacked event scheduled for January 17. The tech giant is expected to introduce some changes to differentiate the new lineup from the outgoing range, with rumored updates including a larger battery for the base and Plus models, new AI features, and a shift from a 10MP periscope camera to a 50MP unit with 5x zoom for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

According to a report by Windows Report, the upcoming Galaxy S24 series will boast new AI capabilities, such as real-time message translation, generative AI for image editing, and improved search features. Furthermore, the phones are said to come in black, gray, violet, and yellow color options, albeit with different marketing names. The new AI features will require enhanced cooling solutions, with all models reportedly set to feature larger vapor chambers, signaling a focus on performance and user experience.

Another noteworthy revelation from the report is that the Galaxy S24 will be powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset, a departure from the norm as Samsung had historically equipped Europe and Asia-bound phones with Exynos chips. This shift in processor choice may reflect a cost-saving measure, with rumors suggesting that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is more expensive than its predecessor. Overall, the upcoming Galaxy S24 series promises an array of improvements and upgrades, further solidifying Samsung’s position as a leader in the smartphone industry.
