Microsoft is enhancing Copilot in Microsoft Teams by introducing new capabilities to assist users during meeting chats and summaries. While Copilot can already summarize meetings, it will soon merge spoken transcripts and written chats into a single view, making it easier for users to catch up on missed meetings. Additionally, Copilot in Teams will provide enhanced message composition in chats, with the ability to rewrite messages and generate new ones based on chat context.
Furthermore, Microsoft is introducing Intelligent call recap for traditional Teams calls, set to be generally available next quarter with Teams Premium. This feature will automatically take notes during calls, eliminating the need for manual note-taking and simplifying the process of summarizing phone calls and identifying follow-up actions. These AI improvements in Microsoft Teams contribute to a more versatile Copilot experience, demonstrating Microsoft’s commitment to integrating AI seamlessly into its productivity apps.
In addition to the Copilot enhancements, Microsoft is rolling out new hybrid meeting features within Teams to enhance the experience for both remote and in-room participants. Features such as automatic camera switching in Teams Rooms, IntelliFrame feature, and speaker recognition for any microphone in Teams Rooms aim to improve the overall meeting experience and ensure efficient communication. Moreover, Microsoft is expanding its partnerships for Teams Phone Mobile feature, offering users the convenience of a single number for Teams and mobile devices through carriers like AT&T, Odido, Virgin Media O2, and Vodafone UK in the near future.
